Around 750 employees work at Rubislaw House, the company’s office in Aberdeen. The offices are newly refurbished and have a restaurant, meeting room suite and fitness centre that run regular exercise classes held with gym instructors.
The site’s sports and social club is run by volunteers enabling employees to pursue common sports and social interests. Sports like water skiing, touch rugby, golf and football are all regular activities. Film nights are offered at a discounted rate for employees and their families.
Regular talks and presentations are arranged by the office safety committee on diverse topics including garden, road and personal safety. The Integrated Occupational Health Services arrange first aid demonstrations, give general health advice and arrange flu jabs for all staff.
The Aberdeen office adopts a Green Transport Policy, encouraging employees to walk, cycle or to take public transport to/from work. To encourage staff in their efforts, the company provides free buses daily to/from several pick-up points on the outskirts of the city.
Aberdeen, also known as The Granite City, owes its distinctive appearance to this locally quarried and widely exported building material. Aberdeen’s buoyant modern economy is fuelled by the oil industry, earning the city its reputation as the ‘oil capital of Europe’.
An additional ConocoPhillips office – Royfold House – is also located at Rubislaw Hill in Aberdeen. Royfold houses Britannia Operator Limited (a joint venture between ConocoPhillips and Chevron) and the finance teams.
In addition, some 200 employees work on the company’s various oil and gas productions platforms across the UK-sector of the North Sea.
