Applying for jobs online
We currently only accept employment applications for open positions via our online system. We do not accept applications in any other format. The ‘Application Guide’ will help you to search and apply for jobs online. As part of your application, we will ask you to answer a brief online questionnaire to help us to determine your suitability for the position you are applying for.
The selection process
We endeavour to identify and recruit the best candidates for each of our roles. To help us to achieve this, we use a variety of assessment and selection methods including interviews, ability tests and assessment centres.
If you are asked to sit an ability test or attend an assessment centre, you will be given prior information regarding when and where the assessment will take place. To help you prepare for the tests, we suggest you make use of all practice materials available either online, at your local library or university.
You can try some sample questions, similar to what you could encounter at ConocoPhillips by visiting www.shldirect.com. On the day, you will be given more specific information on what to do and how to do the test, so there is no need to worry. Further information about online assessments at ConocoPhillips can be found within our online assessment principles.
Interviews are typically conducted on site at the location for which you are applying (this may differ if the location is overseas). The interview process may vary slightly depending on the job. Remember, the interview is a two way process, as much as we are looking for the right person for the job it is also an opportunity to consider whether ConocoPhillips is right for you.
Applicants with disabilities
If you require any special accommodations or adjustments to be made to facilitate your interview with us, please contact the HR contact that you are liaising with so we can provide the support necessary.
No matter how many times you’ve been through it, interviews always manage to get the adrenaline flowing. Preparation is extremely important. A well prepared candidate makes a far better first impression and stands out against other candidates.
During the interview, we would like to get to discover your skills, abilities and experiences you have to offer to contribute to our success. We also expect you to use this opportunity to find out more about us. We will consider your suitability, and potential you have for developing yourself and your career at ConocoPhillips.
