Innovation at Nuns’ Bridges Filling Station

1st August 2006

Jet’s Nuns’ Bridges Filling Station, Thetford, is not just a petrol station where you fill up with fuel buy a newspaper and your lunch, it is proving to be a cut above the rest by opening an on site barbers shop where customers can get a short back and sides.

The Motorhead salon was the idea of owner Steve Jones after the local hairdressers closed down and he thought it would be quite convenient for customer, rather than them driving and finding a parking space in the busy town.

He added “more and more companies are asking their reps to be safe by pulling over to make their calls. I thought they could do this, buy their lunch and get a haircut at the same time.”

Steve hopes that barbershops will become a common fixture in garages across the country.
