ConocoPhillips announces successful Harrison discovery

ABERDEEN – 13 September 2007 – ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Limited, as operator of the 44/19b-6 exploration well, announces the successful discovery of the Harrison prospect in the Southern North Sea, United Kingdom Continental Shelf. Drilled on behalf of the P.1139 licensees, the well encountered approximately 50 feet of gas column in the target Carboniferous Lower Ketch formation. The well is the fifth successful exploration well in succession for the partner group on this play and was drilled to a total depth of 14,070 feet. Drilling and well evaluation were completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The drill stem test flowed hydrocarbons to the surface and confirmed productivity of the reservoir.

Future evaluation will focus on the optimum development concept for this discovery, which will be tied into the Caister Murdoch System (CMS) infrastructure, 20 kilometres to the southwest.

John Warrender, manager of ConocoPhillips' Southern North Sea Operating Unit, said the discovery "adds significantly to our portfolio of commercial discoveries in this area, and will help to ensure continuity of production from this part of the North Sea."
