Training Programme for Planners
ConocoPhillips’ Upstream in the UK has embarked on a training programme for planners, which is supported by a local college. Training is provided to trainees on a ‘day release’ basis, and is augmented by on-the-job development and mentoring. Participants do rotational placements within key functional groups and project teams within the company.
Appropriately qualified, trained and competent people underpin everything we do in all areas of our business. Competent people who understand the business, their role and responsibilities and who use their knowledge and experience to ensure success are key. Sound planning is a pre-requisite to ensure we are able to execute work programmes effectively and efficiently throughout our organisation.
Asset Integrity and Sustainability
ConocoPhillips continues to aim for industry-leading levels of performance in asset integrity and sustainability. The company’s technology programmes are designed to provide technology-driven solutions in the areas of reliability and integrity, water and waste management.
Simulation of Long-term Offshore Oil Production Modelling
This modelling simulates the operation of offshore oil and gas fields using location-specific metocean and weather data. It was used to assess probabilistic
shipping and installation durations for each task of the Britannia Additional Accommodation project, which installed modular accommodation cantilevered onto the Britannia platform in the Central North Sea. The project involved shipping and installing of a series of modules and support steelwork in the middle of winter. The data was incorporated into the work schedule and the project cost risk analysis. The system was developed as a joint industry project.
